The Punjab University has postponed its LLB exams that were scheduled to take place today (Friday), according to an official spokesperson. The decision was made due to the prevailing law and order situation in Lahore, which has disrupted educational and administrative activities across the city.
In an official statement, the university confirmed that the new dates for the postponed exams will be announced later. However, the LLB exams scheduled for October 13 will continue as planned.
βThe LLB exams set for today have been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances,β the university spokesperson stated. βThe revised schedule will be shared soon.β
The move comes amid widespread disruptions in Lahore, where several educational institutions and transportation services have been suspended for security reasons. The Punjab University has also issued a notification confirming the closure of its campus and the suspension of all academic activities. Students were safely evacuated from university premises as a precautionary measure.
PPSC Cancels PERA Force Recruitment Tests
Meanwhile, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) announced the cancellation of the PERA force sub-divisional enforcement officer (SDEO) tests, originally scheduled for October 11 and 12. A PPSC representative said that new dates for the tests will be announced later, and candidates will be informed through official communication channels.
Schools and Colleges Closed Across Lahore
The Education Department has also ordered the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities in Lahore due to security concerns. The Education CEO confirmed that students from both government and private institutions were sent home early. βChildren were given early leave due to road closures and safety concerns,β the CEO said.

Public transport in Lahore has also been severely affected. The Orange Line train and Metro Bus services have been temporarily suspended, while several main routes, including those near major terminals, have been closed to traffic.
Authorities have assured that normal operations will resume once the situation stabilizes, and new exam schedules will be shared with students soon.
