RAWALPINDI β Security forces conducted a Kurram operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing seven terrorists linked to the Indian-backed militant group Fitna-tul-Khawarij.
The operation began in the Dugar area of Kurram following intelligence reports about the presence of these foreign-supported militants. During the intense clash, seven militants were eliminated.
Tragically, six Pakistan Army personnel, including 24-year-old Captain Nauman Saleem from Mianwali, Punjab, were martyred in the exchange of fire. Other soldiers who lost their lives were identified as Havaldar Amjad Ali (39) from Swabi, Naik Waqas Ahmed (36) from Rawalpindi, Sepoy Ejaz Ali (23) from Shikarpur, Sepoy Muhammad Waleed (23) from Jhelum, and Sepoy Muhammad Shehbaz (32) from Khairpur.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the Kurram operation is ongoing, with security forces focused on eliminating any remaining terrorists in the area.
This operation is part of the broader Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to eradicate foreign-backed terrorism and restore peace in the region.
Authorities emphasized the continued determination of Pakistan Army and security agencies to safeguard the country against terrorist threats. Citizens were urged to stay vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement in reporting suspicious activities.
The Kurram operation highlights Pakistanβs ongoing efforts to counter terrorism and secure border regions from infiltration by militant groups. It also underlines the sacrifices made by soldiers to maintain national security.
Families of the martyred soldiers expressed grief and pride over their loved onesβ bravery. Their sacrifices serve as a reminder of the risks faced by military personnel in combating terrorism.
