Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has finally addressed the backlash he faced after touching Amitabh Bachchan’s feet on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. The Jatt & Juliet 3 star expressed that he holds no complaints or resentment toward anyone regarding the controversy.
The debate began following Diljit Dosanjh’s appearance on the popular game show. While many fans admired his humility, some critics objected to his gesture of touching the veteran actor’s feet, viewing it as unnecessary or controversial.
One social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the widespread criticism:
“Sad to see Diljit getting criticised from all sides — right/left wingers who hate Sikhs, and Khalistan supporters who hate him for KBC. It just shows how sick our society has become — hate everywhere, no matter the religion.”
Responding to the online criticism, Diljit Dosanjh wrote in Punjabi:
“Nahi Nahi. Eh Oh Aap Hee Aa. Just Bande Nu Check Karda Ke Banda Kithey Ku Khadha Aapni Journey Ch. Manu Kisey Naal Shikayat Ni. SAB GOBIND HAI. ONE LOVE.”
The message, loosely translated, reflects his calm and positive approach, suggesting he sees such moments as part of his journey and holds no grudge against anyone.
The controversy intensified when the Sikh group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), led by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, accused Diljit of “insulting” victims of the 1984 Sikh riots. The organization also threatened to shut down his concert in Australia in protest of his gesture.
Despite the criticism, Diljit Dosanjh earned praise during the same KBC episode by donating his ₹50 lakh prize money to flood relief efforts in Punjab. His generosity and humility were widely appreciated, with fans praising the singer and actor for using his platform to support a meaningful cause.
