The Dera police arrested a woman and recovered more than seven kilograms of hashish during a successful operation in the Cantonment Police Station area.
According to a police spokesperson, the raid was carried out under the direct orders of District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada. The operation was supervised by SP City Ali Hamza Butt and DSP City Circle Hafiz Muhammad Adnan.
Acting on reliable intelligence, a team led by SHO Cantonment Arslan Khan Gandapur intercepted a suspicious woman near Niazi Adda, located behind Mehsud Market. Upon searching her belongings, the police recovered six packets of hashish weighing approximately 7.37 kilograms.
The suspect was identified as Mehnaz Bibi, daughter of Nazar Gul Marwat. She is a resident of Darra Pezu, Lakki Marwat, but had been living in Benazir Colony at the time of her arrest.
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused, and an in-depth investigation has been launched to determine the source and intended destination of the narcotics. Authorities suspect the drugs were being transported for sale within the city.
DPO Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada appreciated the police team for their timely action and urged continued efforts against drug trafficking in the region. He emphasized that such operations would persist until the area is free from narcotics and other criminal activities.
The arrest highlights the policeβs ongoing commitment to cracking down on drug smuggling and strengthening law enforcement across Dera.
