The Hyderabad traffic police have announced higher fines for several traffic violations across the city. Officials confirmed that simple challans will be issued initially, while an e-challan system will be introduced soon. The decision aims to improve road safety and promote discipline among motorists.
According to the updated list, penalties for common offences have been significantly increased. Driving without a number plate will now result in a fine of Rs 20,000, while those caught driving without a valid licence will have to pay Rs 2,500.
Updated Traffic Fine List
The new fine structure includes:
- No helmet: Rs 500
- Wrong parking: Rs 2,000
- One-way violation: Rs 3,000
- No indicators: Rs 1,000
Officials from the Hyderabad traffic police said all necessary data has been sent for the e-challan rollout. They added that the digital system will begin soon. Banners displaying the revised fines have already been placed at key city locations to inform motorists.
Strict Enforcement to Begin Soon
Traffic officers have been directed to strictly enforce the new penalties within a week. The move comes as part of efforts to reduce accidents and ensure smoother traffic flow across Hyderabad.
Authorities also emphasized the importance of following traffic laws. They urged citizens to wear helmets, carry licences, and park responsibly to avoid unnecessary penalties. Officials said that higher fines would serve as a deterrent to reckless driving and repeated violations.
The Hyderabad traffic police believe that the revised fines, combined with the upcoming e-challan system, will help create safer roads for everyone and encourage better driving habits in the city.
