Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) continues to avoid dialogue with the government, despite several invitations from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah stated that PTI and other opposition parties are unwilling to engage in meaningful discussions. โWe tried once again to initiate dialogue, but their attitude has not changed. They have followed this same pattern in the past and are continuing it now,โ he said.
He explained that the Prime Minister, during his Independence Day address, had invited the opposition to participate in the โCharter of Pakistanโs Stability.โ The purpose, he said, was to bring all political forces together to discuss major national issues and find solutions through a united approach.
Rana Sanaullah also criticized the opposition for boycotting parliamentary standing committees. He said that opposition members missed an important chance to contribute to the debate on the 27th constitutional amendment. โWe invited all allied parties, and they joined the discussions. We shared every detail with them and welcomed their suggestions,โ he added.
The adviser emphasized that the government still believes in dialogue and cooperation for the countryโs stability. He said political disagreements should not stop parties from working together on matters of national interest.
Officials close to the government say that efforts for political reconciliation will continue, but progress depends on the oppositionโs willingness to engage. The government hopes that talks, if resumed, could help address key political and economic challenges facing Pakistan.
