The Afghan govt has strongly condemned the recent suicide blast in Islamabad, describing the incident as “regrettable” and expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives.
In an official statement, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said the Afghan govt opposes all forms of terrorism and violence. The ministry extended prayers for the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack. It also condemned a separate explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi, which killed ten people and injured several others.
According to police reports, the Islamabad blast occurred outside the G-11 courthouse, killing 12 people and injuring about 30. The explosion caused panic in the area and drew immediate international condemnation.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He called for a full investigation and urged that those responsible be brought to justice.
The United States, through its embassy in Islamabad, reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism. It expressed sympathy for the families of the victims and reiterated solidarity with Pakistan in its fight against extremist violence.
The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad also condemned the bombing, offering condolences and wishing for the quick recovery of the injured. Similarly, the European Union, Russia, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Qatar, and Canada issued strong statements denouncing the attack.
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry called the incident a “tragic tragedy,” pledging continued cooperation with Pakistan to promote peace and eliminate terrorism in the region. The Russian Embassy expressed hope that the attackers and planners would face strict punishment under the law.
The Afghan govt emphasized that terrorism remains a shared regional threat and stressed the need for unity and cooperation among neighboring countries to ensure long-term peace and stability.
