Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 23 Indian-Backed Terrorists in Kurram Operations

Pakistan’s security forces successfully killed 23 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants in two intelligence-based operations in Kurram District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday. The operations form part of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, Azm-e-Istehkam.

The first operation targeted a group of militants, locally referred to as Khawarij. During a heavy exchange of fire, 12 terrorists were neutralized. A second operation, conducted based on fresh intelligence about another militant group in the same area, resulted in 11 more militants being killed.

Both groups were reportedly involved in terrorist activities under Indian patronage, highlighting the continued threat of Indian-backed terrorists in the region.

Sanitization operations are ongoing in Kurram to remove any remaining militants. The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully committed to eradicating terrorism, especially activities supported or sponsored from abroad.

“These operations are part of the Federal Apex Committee-approved National Action Plan and the Azm-e-Istehkam vision,” the ISPR stated. “Our aim is to maintain national security and ensure regional stability by eliminating threats posed by foreign-supported terrorism.”

The military wing reaffirmed its determination to continue intelligence-led counter-terrorism measures. Operations will proceed at full pace to dismantle networks of Indian-backed terrorists and secure Pakistan’s borders.

Authorities stressed that these actions demonstrate Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms. The ISPR reiterated that any group threatening peace and stability, especially those receiving foreign support, will face decisive action.
