A PIA aeroplane was grounded in Malaysia because of unpaid fees.

A legal disagreement caused Kuala Lumpur International Airport to prohibit a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777 from taking off.

The leasing firm for the aircraft had filed a lawsuit in a nearby court, claiming that the airline owed them $4.5 million.

The PIA has refuted the assertion, claiming that it is the rightful owner of the aircraft and that the leasing business only owns one of the attached engines. According to PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan, the firm has been paid $1.8 million towards the real debt.
