During a panel discussion at a World Cup 2023 promotional event, the 43-year-old commented, “If you believe marrying Aishwarya Rai would ensure a morally upright child, that’s simply not realistic.”
The clip drew widespread criticism as it revealed Shahid Afridi and Gul sharing laughter at Razzaq’s distasteful joke.
Facing backlash, Razzaq swiftly issued an apology to the Bollywood actress, asserting that his remarks were not intended to make any derogatory comparison while discussing Pakistan cricket. He clarified that he unintentionally mentioned the former Miss World’s name when trying to cite a different example.
