The Provincial Disasters Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a precautionary alert to all district administrations in response to the Meteorological Department’s forecast of impending rains and snowfall in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Scheduled to begin on February 25, the anticipated spell of rain and snowfall has prompted the PDMA to advise district administrations to undertake necessary precautions.

Muhammad Qaiser Khan, the Director General of PDMA, expressed concerns over potential landslides in the upper districts of KP due to the anticipated weather conditions. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the availability of both small and heavy machinery, issuing directives to this effect.
Additionally, the public has been urged to exercise caution, particularly around power lines, deteriorating buildings, structures, signboards, and billboards. Tourists and residents in sensitive upper areas are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take appropriate precautionary measures.
District administrations in these sensitive areas have been instructed to disseminate safety messages in local languages. Furthermore, in the event of emergencies, all relevant organizations are urged to maintain road links and provide alternative routes if necessary.
Muhammad Qaiser Khan emphasized the importance of alerting passengers traveling on provincial and national highways in sensitive areas to ensure their safety amidst changing weather conditions.
