The injured people have been sent to the Hayatabad Medical Complex, the spokesman said.

A bomb disposal team, ambulances, and police units had arrived at the scene, Rashid continued. Later, he revealed to Newsguru.com that the explosion utilized 200 grammes of explosives.

The authority noted that more investigation is being conducted.

Since the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke its ceasefire with the government in November, Pakistan has been plagued by a wave of terrorism, mostly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

A research claims that January 2023 was the worst month since 2018, when 134 people died (a 139% increase) and 254 were wounded in at least 44 extremist strikes across the nation.

The massacre occurred only days after the military launched a fresh operation against terrorists in response to a recent uptick in strikes, including the bombing of a mosque in Peshawar in February, which left over 100 people dead.
