40,000 Selected In First E-Bike Balloting Under PAVE Scheme

The Ministry of Industries and Production has successfully conducted the first digital e-balloting under the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) Scheme. The balloting allocated subsidized e-bikes and electric three-wheelers across Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The secure process was carried out on the PAVE Online Portal with the support of the Engineering Development Board (EDB). A Balloting Oversight Committee supervised the entire procedure to ensure fairness and transparency.

According to official figures, a total of 269,161 applications were received for the scheme. Out of these, 40,000 were selected in balloting. The allocation included 40,000 electric two-wheelers and 1,000 electric three-wheelers.

Applicants can check their results by entering their CNIC or Application ID on the official PAVE portal. Successful candidates will be notified online, while subsidy disbursement and vehicle handovers will follow government procedures. Manufacturers will handle delivery, warranty, and after-sales support.

Federal Secretary for Industries and Production, Saif Anjum, inaugurated the event, calling it a milestone in Pakistan’s shift toward sustainable transport. He emphasized that digital transparency was central to the process.

The scheme offers significant subsidies to make electric vehicles more affordable. For two-wheelers, buyers will get Rs50,000 through bank leasing and Rs80,000 for self-financed purchases. For electric three-wheelers, subsidies of Rs200,000 via bank leasing and Rs400,000 under self-finance are included.

Officials highlighted that the PAVE Scheme aligns with the National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP) 2025–30. It is expected to generate over 100,000 green jobs, enhance local manufacturing, and strengthen Pakistan’s industrial sector.

The announcement that 40,000 selected in balloting have secured subsidies is seen as a major step toward expanding electric mobility in Pakistan.
