KARACHI – The copper price in Pakistan today (February 3, 2026) is stable, with high-quality Millberry scrap trading at Rs. 5,500 per kg. Refined new copper is priced higher, ranging between Rs. 5,800 and Rs. 6,200 depending on purity and location.
Local copper rates are influenced by import costs, customs duties, and strong demand from the electrical, construction, and recycling sectors. Standard scrap copper sells for Rs. 2,100 to Rs. 3,200 per kg in major markets such as Karachi, Lahore, and Gujranwala.
On the international front, copper prices have rebounded sharply. LME 3-month copper futures are trading around $12,985–$13,000 per tonne, while COMEX copper spot prices range from $6.01 to $6.07 per pound. This marks a 3.2–3.3% increase today, driven by dip-buying and renewed optimism in industrial demand.
Analysts note that the recent global rebound is fueled by growing demand in green energy, electrification, and electric vehicles. Short-term forecasts suggest copper prices could reach $6.05 per pound by the end of Q1 2026, with a 12-month outlook of $6.72 per pound.
Copper remains in high demand due to its unmatched electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and recyclability. It is widely used in wiring, transformers, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, construction, industrial machinery, and telecom infrastructure. Nearly 80% of all copper ever mined is still in use, supporting long-term price stability.
For Pakistani buyers, the copper price remains higher than international benchmarks due to import duties and handling costs. International base rates translate to roughly Rs. 3,710 per kg before local import charges.
