Pakistanis can finally look forward to some financial relief as petrol and diesel prices are projected to drop by Rs12 per litre starting April 16, 2025.
This anticipated reduction follows a significant decline in global crude oil prices, with Brent crude falling from $74.95 to $60.12 per barrel in recent weeks. As a result, petrol prices are expected to decrease to Rs242 per litre, down from the current Rs254.63, while diesel prices may fall to Rs250 per litre from Rs258.64.

The price cut is attributed to shifting trends in the international oil market, influenced by reduced global demand and overall negative market sentiment. This decline is expected to ease the burden on Pakistani consumers, who have been facing high fuel costs amid global energy instability.
Though this drop offers temporary relief, further adjustments in fuel prices are likely, depending on ongoing fluctuations in the international market.
Just last month, the government had only slightly reduced petrol prices by Rs1 per litre, with diesel prices remaining unchanged at Rs258.64 per litre.
