The federal government has announced a reduction in the LPG price for October 2025, providing relief to domestic and commercial consumers.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the LPG price has been cut by Rs6.70 per kilogram, a decrease of 3.13%. The new rate stands at Rs207.49 per kilogram, down from Rs214.30 in September.
The price of an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs79.14. Consumers will now pay Rs2448.33 for a cylinder instead of the previous Rs2527.47. Similarly, the price of a 45.4kg commercial cylinder has fallen by Rs304.18, bringing the new rate to Rs9420.50, compared to Rs9724.68 last month.
The adjustment in the LPG price is linked to changes in the Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) and the US dollar exchange rate. The Saudi Aramco-CP dropped by 3.78% compared to the previous month, while the average exchange rate of the US dollar slightly rose by 0.23%. The combined effect led to the price reduction for October.
Officials said the revised LPG rates will take effect from October 1. The revision is part of the government’s monthly review process, which considers international price movements and exchange rate fluctuations.
Industry experts note that this decrease will provide some relief to households already facing inflationary pressures. The lower prices of domestic and commercial cylinders are expected to ease cooking fuel expenses for many families.
The OGRA notification further emphasized that price adjustments will continue to follow international benchmarks to ensure fair consumer rates in the coming months.
