ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has stressed the urgent need for Pakistan to adopt digital technologies, automation, and advanced engineering solutions. ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi noted that global markets are rapidly transforming due to technology, and Pakistan cannot afford to lag behind. He explained that industries must adopt automation to improve productivity, reduce wastage, and lower business costs. He assured that ICCI will continue to advocate for policies that encourage digital transformation and help local businesses stay aligned with international standards.
Highlighting the role of advanced engineering solutions, Qureshi said that Pakistan needs to build strong human capital equipped with skills in artificial intelligence, robotics, and Industry 4.0. He emphasized that ICCI will keep working with academia, research institutions, and international partners to ensure the workforce is prepared for future challenges.
ICCI Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry echoed the call for modernization. He said digitalization and automation are vital for strengthening small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which form the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. He urged the government to provide incentives, training, and infrastructure support to help SMEs integrate modern technology into their operations.
Chaudhry added that ICCI is committed to raising awareness and offering capacity-building opportunities to promote digital adoption. By working with stakeholders, the chamber aims to prepare industries for a fast-changing global market.
