ISLAMABAD – The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been increased, impacting households across Pakistan.
According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the LPG price has risen by Rs10.68 per kilogram. This change makes an 11.8-kilogram domestic cylinder costlier by Rs126.
Following the revision, the new LPG price has been fixed at Rs219 per kilogram. The price of an 11.8-kilogram domestic cylinder is now Rs2,592. OGRA issued an official notification confirming the updated rates.
The increase in LPG price comes amid rising global fuel costs and fluctuating energy markets. Consumers are likely to feel the impact in household budgets, especially those relying on LPG for daily cooking.
Industry experts note that such price adjustments are periodically reviewed to reflect international market trends and domestic supply conditions. The revised LPG price is expected to remain in effect until the next OGRA review.
Gas distributors have been directed to implement the new rates immediately and ensure transparency in billing. Authorities have also advised consumers to report any irregularities in LPG charges.
The rise in LPG price highlights the broader energy sector challenges in Pakistan. Policymakers continue to emphasize the importance of balancing domestic affordability with the need to maintain supply and meet global energy pricing standards.
Consumers are urged to manage LPG consumption efficiently and plan for increased household expenses. The government and OGRA have assured that future adjustments will be communicated promptly to prevent confusion.
