APBF Hails Pak–Saudi Strategic Pact As Gateway To Growth

The All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) has welcomed the signing of the Pak–Saudi strategic pact, describing it as a historic milestone that strengthens defense cooperation while opening new economic opportunities.

In a joint statement, APBF President Syed Maaz Mahmood and Chairman Ibrahim Qureshi praised the government’s commitment to deepening ties with Saudi Arabia. They called the pact a “game-changer” for Pakistan’s security and economy, highlighting its potential to boost trade, investment, and industrial collaboration.

Maaz Mahmood noted that the agreement, signed with the endorsement of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, symbolizes trust and brotherhood. He said the clause that treats aggression against one country as aggression against both provides not only military assurance but also investor confidence. “This is a shield for our economy and a foundation for long-term growth,” he said.

Qureshi added that Saudi Arabia, already Pakistan’s largest source of remittances, will further expand its role through new projects in energy, construction, and manufacturing. He said the Pak–Saudi strategic pact could also pave the way for joint special economic zones, combining Saudi investment with Pakistani expertise.

Both leaders credited Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir for his vision in integrating national and economic security. They said the agreement reflects his efforts to ensure defense cooperation translates into real economic dividends. Mahmood also stressed that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) can now attract more Saudi investors with confidence that their capital will be secure.

Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Mahmood said Pakistan can align its exports in food, IT, and skilled labor to support the Kingdom’s diversification goals. Qureshi urged local businesses to upgrade standards and build partnerships to seize these opportunities.

Calling the Pak–Saudi strategic pact a defining moment, APBF leaders said unity among government, military, and business sectors is vital to maximize its benefits. They emphasized that the agreement is more than a defense pact—it is a roadmap for shared growth and regional influence.
