ISLAMABAD β Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to expand cooperation in mining and technology during high-level meetings in Tashkent. The talks were part of follow-up discussions after the recent visit of the Prime Minister to Uzbekistan.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Haroon Akhtar held a meeting at Uzbekistanβs Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology. Both sides reviewed prospects for collaboration in mineral exploration and resource development.
The Pak-Uzbek discussions highlighted the potential of Pakistanβs vast mineral reserves and Uzbekistanβs expertise in mining. Officials noted that closer cooperation could benefit both economies. It was agreed that ministerial-level engagements would continue regularly to turn discussions into practical partnerships.
Earlier, the SAPM also visited Techno Park in Tashkent. He was briefed about Uzbekistanβs production of electronic and household products. During the visit, he expressed interest in joint ventures between the two countries in manufacturing modern gas meters, electricity meters, and solar water heaters.
The Pak-Uzbek dialogue reflects growing efforts to strengthen economic ties. Both sides emphasized that cooperation in energy technology and mining could open new avenues of trade and investment.
Analysts believe that closer Pak-Uzbek collaboration may not only boost bilateral trade but also create opportunities for technology transfer and industrial development. Regular interaction between officials is expected to set the foundation for long-term cooperation.
The meetings underline the shared goal of both nations to expand economic engagement and build sustainable partnerships in key sectors.
