The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) has announced major opportunities for the handmade carpet sector through upcoming international exhibitions.
PCMEA Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and International Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed said the events will open new doors for exports. They noted that international exhibitions in Pakistan, Turkiye, and Germany will play a vital role in boosting trade and showcasing Pakistan’s craftsmanship.
The 41st International Handmade Carpet Exhibition will be held in Lahore from October 7 to 9. According to organizers, this event will prepare local businesses for world-renowned trade fairs, including “Domotex” and “Heimtextil” in Germany and the “Carpet and Flooring Expo” in Turkiye, scheduled for next year.
The leaders highlighted that more than 100 companies from across the world have already registered for the Lahore exhibition. This strong participation reflects global confidence in Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry. They stressed that the event will not only highlight the country’s artisanship but also help secure a stronger position in international markets.
During a meeting to review preparations, senior industry figures, including Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik and other leading exporters, expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. They said that a comprehensive strategy is being developed to ensure the sector gains long-term benefits from these global trade opportunities.
Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman emphasized that international exhibitions act as a bridge between Pakistani exporters and global buyers. He said they create valuable networking opportunities and open new avenues for trade partnerships. Riaz Ahmed added that such platforms are crucial for increasing foreign exchange earnings and strengthening Pakistan’s economy.
Industry stakeholders agreed that sustained participation in international exhibitions will help Pakistan achieve greater export growth and enhance its reputation as a leading hub for handmade carpets.
