The federal government has increased the price of motor spirit (MS) petrol for the next three days. The latest revision was issued following an update from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Under the new rates, the price of Petrol has increased by Rs. 2.02 per litre. It will now be available at Rs. 391.30 per litre.
At the same time, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced. Diesel has become cheaper by Rs. 3.59 per litre. Its new price stands at Rs. 408.53 per litre.
The latest adjustment comes after another revision made on Thursday. On September 24, the price of petrol was reduced by Rs. 0.84 per litre.
Following that adjustment, petrol was available at Rs. 389.28 per litre. Diesel was also reduced by Rs. 2.63 per litre. Its price stood at Rs. 412.12 per litre.
The latest change reflects the ongoing daily fuel price revision system. Under this system, fuel rates are updated more frequently than the earlier pricing cycle.
According to the available data, Petrol prices have recorded significant changes since daily revisions began. The fuel has increased by Rs. 80.59 per litre during this period.
Diesel prices have also registered a substantial increase. Its overall increase stands at Rs. 85.23 per litre since the start of daily revisions.
The recent figures show continued fluctuations in fuel prices. Petrol was priced at Rs. 393.75 per litre on September 21.
Its price then declined to Rs. 392.05 on September 22. It dropped further to Rs. 390.12 on September 23.
On September 24, the rate fell again to Rs. 389.28 per litre. It has now increased to Rs. 391.30 per litre.
Diesel followed a different pattern during the same period. Its price stood at Rs. 422.08 per litre on September 21.
The rate declined to Rs. 418.96 on September 22. It then fell to Rs. 414.75 on September 23.
Diesel reached Rs. 412.12 per litre on September 24. The latest revision has brought it down further to Rs. 408.53.
The latest fuel prices will remain applicable for the announced three-day period. Consumers will therefore see the revised rates at fuel stations during this period.
Fuel price changes directly affect transportation and other daily expenses. Petrol prices also influence the cost of private travel and some commercial activities.
