ISLAMABAD: The federal government announced revised fuel prices on Sunday for the next two weeks. According to the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol remains unchanged at Rs264.61 per litre. However, high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs2.78 per litre, reaching Rs272.77 from the earlier Rs269.99.
The notification also confirmed a cut in kerosene oil rates. Its price has been reduced by Rs7.19, bringing it down to Rs178.27 per litre. Light diesel saw the sharpest decline, dropping by Rs8.20 per litre to Rs162.37.
The latest adjustment in petroleum prices reflects both domestic market conditions and international oil trends. While petrol users will see no change in cost, consumers relying on diesel, kerosene, and light diesel will face mixed impacts depending on usage.
Updated fuel prices effective from September 16, 2025, are as follows: petrol at Rs264.61, high-speed diesel at Rs272.77, light diesel at Rs162.37, and kerosene oil at Rs178.27 per litre.
Separately, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices earlier in September. The authority reduced LPG by Rs1.17 per kilogram, setting the new price at Rs214.2 per kg. The cost of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has also dropped by Rs14.36, now priced at Rs2,527 compared to the previous Rs2,541.36.
Officials stated that the reduction in LPG prices aligns with falling global petroleum costs. The decision aims to provide relief to households, particularly those dependent on LPG for cooking and heating.
With these adjustments, the government seeks to balance consumer affordability with market realities. The unchanged petrol rate provides stability, while reductions in kerosene, light diesel, and LPG are expected to ease financial pressure on the public.
