Rupee Remains Stable Against Dollar

The stable currency rate provided some stability amid the pressure on equities. However, selling activity continued across several key sectors.

Fresh Iranian threats in the Persian Gulf also influenced market sentiment. The developments contributed to higher oil prices and bond yields.
Japanโs Nikkei 225 moved between gains and losses during trading. It later edged 0.2% higher.
The Japanese yen strengthened by as much as 0.6%. It reached 153.51 against the US dollar.

US West Texas Intermediate crude rose $2.93, or 3.2%. WTI traded at $94.41 per barrel.
Brent earlier reached $99.22 per barrel. This was its highest level since July 24.
