LAHORE: Police have identified suspects allegedly involved in the drugging, sexual assault and robbery of a 20-year-old Azerbaijani businesswoman in Lahore.

The incident reportedly took place in the Defence C area of the city. The victim had arrived in Pakistan around two weeks earlier for a business visit.

According to police, the businesswoman visited a local café on Friday night. Two women allegedly approached her there and gained her trust.

The women reportedly took her to a flat after leaving the café. Three men were allegedly present at the location.

Police said the suspects gave the woman an intoxicating drink. She was then allegedly sexually assaulted throughout the night.

The suspects reportedly left the victim near Lahore airport the following afternoon. Her personal belongings were allegedly taken before she was abandoned.

Police said the stolen items included her luggage and two expensive mobile phones. The incident prompted an investigation by several police teams.

Investigating teams are being led by SP Asim Iftikhar. Officials have reportedly recovered the vehicle allegedly used during the crime.

Police have also placed the suspects on the national stop list. This measure is intended to prevent their movement outside the country.

Meanwhile, law enforcement teams have started raids at different locations across Lahore. The raids are aimed at locating and arresting the suspects.

Investigators are also examining CCTV footage linked to the incident. The footage may help establish the suspects’ movements before and after the crime.

Forensic analysis is also continuing as part of the investigation. Police are expected to use forensic findings alongside CCTV evidence.

The case involves allegations of drugging, gang rape and robbery. Authorities are working to establish the full sequence of events.

The victim was reportedly in Pakistan for business purposes when the incident occurred. Police have not yet announced arrests in the case.
