Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has announced plans to introduce a metro bus service in Faisalabad, fulfilling a promise made by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. In a social media post, CM Maryam Nawaz responded to a netizen’s request to address the public transport issue in Faisalabad, stating that she will hold a final meeting with the Transport Department today.
CM Maryam Nawaz revealed that she will approve 700 buses for Punjab, with a significant number allocated to address the public transport needs in Faisalabad. She assured that the metro bus service will cover all important routes in the city.

Responding to another netizen’s suggestion for pre-defined routes, set service timetables, and established bus stops/bus shelters, CM Maryam Nawaz affirmed that these elements are part of the plan for the metro bus service in Faisalabad.
The announcement comes in line with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s pre-election promise to launch the Orange Line Metro Train in Faisalabad if his party came to power. CM Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to implementing this plan underscores the government’s dedication to improving public transportation infrastructure in the province.
