Rumors abound regarding Google’s upcoming hardware showcase in October, where it’s speculated that the tech giant will unveil three new smartphones: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Moreover, there’s talk that the Pixel Fold 2 has been rebranded as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and might also make an appearance at the event.
Recently, leaked images of the Pixel 9 Pro have surfaced, including one showing it side by side with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to succeed the Pixel 8 Pro in size, maintaining a footprint similar to the standard Pixel 9 but with added professional features like the periscope telephoto rear camera showcased in the image below.

The Pixel 9 Pro is anticipated to match the size of the iPhone 15 Pro while introducing several enhancements over its predecessors. This model will be powered by the new Tensor G4 chipset and boast a significant memory upgrade, offering 16 GB of RAM supplied by Micron, 4 GB more than the Pixel 8 Pro. Additionally, Samsung will provide the UFS storage for this device, and satellite connectivity will be enabled through Samsung’s Exynos Modem 5400.
Confirming earlier speculation, the Pixel 9 Pro will feature a new camera bump design, departing from the previous ‘visor’ style that extended to the device’s edges. Instead, the new model will sport an oval-shaped bump, with a noticeably larger metal section near the LED flash. Additionally, the Pixel 9 Pro will boast a sleek, flat polished frame, setting its design apart from previous iterations.
