Actress Saba Qamar hospitalized due to diesel inhalation

Saba Qamar

Saba Qamar, a well-known actor, recently revealed that she is currently battling a severe lung infection. Saba shared an image from her hospital bed on Instagram Story, showing a cannula inserted in the back of her hand.

She explained, alongside the image, that the infection was caused by the common use of diesel fuel on sets to create smog effects. She urged everyone to avoid using diesel fuel, emphasising its negative health effects and sharing her own firsthand experience with the consequences.

“It’s been a few days [that] I’m suffering with lungs infection because of the diesel being used very commonly on the sets to create the smog effect,” wrote Saba on her Instagram Story. “I urge everyone to stop using diesel fuel because it really is injurious to health. No one knows better than I do, and it is the worst feeling ever.”

This shocking revelation highlights an important issue concerning safety precautions on film sets, where such precautions are sometimes overlooked. The fact that someone as prominent as Saba was unable to avoid such an incident demonstrates the unfortunate prioritisation of aesthetics over individual well-being.

Sarmad Khoosat, Saba’s Kamli filmmaker, also commented. Sarmad took to his Instagram Story to write, “Yes please!” after sharing an update about Saba’s health. “I also don’t understand this obsession with haze in visuals,” the director added.

He added the eye-rolling emoji to express his displeasure. “And if it’s so inevitable,” he continued, “then we need to find better solutions for this.” Sarmad then concluded his message with Saba’s prayers, writing, “Get well soon,” for the megastar.
