More than 600 people in Faisalabad were rushed to hospitals after suffering from gastroenteritis, largely due to the consumption of spicy and unhygienic food during Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
Health experts warned against overindulgence in oily and spicy dishes, advising citizens to practice food hygiene and moderation during festive feasts. “Improper food handling can trigger serious gastrointestinal problems,” doctors cautioned.

The surge in cases overwhelmed the emergency departments at Allied, Civil, and General Hospitals as families sought help for severe stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhoea.
Additionally, over 150 untrained butchers injured themselves during sacrificial animal slaughter and were also treated at various hospitals.
