On September 2, Cassidy posted a video on Instagram showing herself getting new piercings and a tattoo. The design was a small wilted rose, identical to the one Payne had on his neck. Instead of placing it in the same spot, she chose the back of her right hand below her thumb.
The influencer kept her caption simple, adding only a red wilted rose emoji to symbolize her latest ink. Fans quickly recognized the gesture as a heartfelt tribute to her late boyfriend.
Payne, the former One Direction star, passed away at the age of 31 after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina on October 16, 2024. The tragedy shocked fans around the world and left Cassidy devastated.
Just days earlier, Cassidy had marked Payne’s 32nd birthday on August 29 with a montage of throwback clips from their time together. She captioned the video with touching words, celebrating his memory.
This is not the first time the girlfriend of the pop star has honored him with ink. Two months after his passing, she revealed angel wing tattoos on her right index and middle fingers. The wings symbolized her description of Payne as her “angel.”
At the time, Cassidy shared a heartfelt message online, writing, “Liam, my angel. You are everything. I loved you unconditionally and will continue to love you for the rest of my life.”
