Khabib Turns Down $40 Million Offer for UFC Comeback

UFC heavyweight champion and commentator Daniel Cormier recently disclosed that Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former Russian MMA star and longest-reigning UFC lightweight champion, turned down a lucrative $40 million deal to make a return to the UFC.

Khabib, who held the UFC lightweight title from April 2018 until March 2021, retired with an impressive 29-0 record after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

Addressing the speculation, Khabib’s coach, Javier Mendez, unequivocally dismissed the rumors, stating, “I’m just letting you guys know that, stop all this nonsense on the internet regarding Khabib coming back to the UFC 300. We are not training together.” Mendez emphasized Khabib’s commitment to his family and clarified that the former champion is not involved in coaching or cornering fighters. He reiterated, “Khabib is never gonna fight again. To my knowledge, it has never been spoken about.”

UFC President Dana White confirmed that Max Holloway is set to face Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 for the BMF (Baddest Motherf*****) title, a prestigious accolade for the toughest fighter in the UFC. The confirmation adds anticipation to the upcoming event as fans await the clash between these accomplished fighters.
