Legendary Pakistani batsman Zaheer Abbas has offered a crucial piece of advice for former captain Babar Azam, who is making a comeback to form after a series of below-par performances by his standards. Known as the Asian Bradman, Abbas urged the world-class batter to bring more consistency to his game, emphasizing that Babar has been performing below expectations. Abbas expressed hope that Babar will bounce back from his recent patchy form, scoring fifties that lead to match-winning performances, as he believes Babar’s current form is not translating into such impactful innings.
Despite only scoring 126 runs in six innings during the Test series against Australia, Babar showed signs of resurgence with scores of 57 and 66 in the first two T20Is against New Zealand. Zaheer Abbas remains optimistic about Babar’s ability to play match-winning knocks for Pakistan.

Highlighting the need for a strong comeback, Abbas emphasized that Pakistan must rectify mistakes made in the first two T20Is. He stressed the importance of solid fielding and catching, stating that without these elements, winning matches becomes challenging.
In addition to his cricket insights, Zaheer Abbas commented on the strained cricket relations between Pakistan and India. Expressing disappointment, he noted that the proximity between the two countries is merely two steps, yet international bilateral series between India and Pakistan have been on hold for over a decade due to political issues and regional instability.
The last bilateral series India played in Pakistan was in 2005-06, and their last visit to Pakistan occurred 16 years ago during the Asia Cup in 2008. As the current T20I series against New Zealand stands at 2-0 in favor of the opposition, Pakistan faces the challenge of making a strong statement and turning the tide in the remaining matches.
