MUMBAI – Veteran actor Aamir Khan played a crucial creative role in his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming romantic drama, Ek Din. Filmmaker Mansoor Khan revealed that Aamir personally rewrote the film’s climax to improve its execution.
In a recent interview, Mansoor Khan said, “Aamir Khan had reservations about the climax scene. He rewrote it. We agreed he was right.” This highlights the collaborative nature of the project and Aamir’s hands-on involvement.
Ek Din stars Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi, marking her Bollywood debut. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, with Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit also backing the project.
Mansoor, who has worked with Aamir Khan on classics like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, explained that creative discussions were common during the making of Ek Din. However, differences were resolved constructively.
He recalled one particular song sequence shot in Japan. While Aamir suggested a different emotional approach, Mansoor chose to follow the director’s vision. Later, Aamir appreciated the final version. Mansoor said, “Such exchanges strengthened the film.”
Ek Din is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The story follows a romantic journey, and Aamir’s input on the climax is expected to make it more impactful.
The film is set to release in theatres on 1 May 2026. Fans are eager to see Junaid Khan’s performance and the creative influence of Aamir Khan on the project. Industry observers note that Aamir’s involvement adds credibility and raises expectations for the film’s success.
