Pakistani comedian Ali Gul Pir has once again found himself at the center of online controversy after sharing his thoughts on political trolling. Known for his sharp wit and fearless humor, Ali Gul Pir has been creating satire for over a decade, targeting politicians, celebrities, and social behaviors alike.
The comedian first rose to fame with his viral hit Waderai Ka Beta, which mocked Sindhi feudal culture. Since then, Ali Gul Pir has built a loyal fan base for his sketches that highlight hypocrisy and social issues. His videos often poke fun at politicians, restaurant customers who mistreat staff, and public figures caught in viral blunders.
However, not everyone takes his humor lightly. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the comedian shared that while most politicians and their parties tolerate his jokes, some supporters do not. “I’ve been doing satire for more than a decade,” he wrote. “From all the supporters, the most abusive, vile, and aggressive trolls have always been with [Imran Khan display pictures] or tigress in bio. Why?”
His post triggered a wave of backlash online, with many users responding harshly. Some engaged in debate, but others resorted to personal attacks — the very behavior Ali Gul Pir had pointed out.
In a follow-up post, he addressed the trolling, saying, “The ‘shahoor’ speaks for itself. I will continue doing what I’ve been doing since 2012 and making a decent living from it. I’ve fought fundos, FIA cases, and threats; your typing doesn’t phase me.”
Despite the criticism, Ali Gul Pir reaffirmed his commitment to satire and free expression. He encouraged his followers to express political opinions respectfully, adding, “You can politic without abusing others. This just hurts your own purpose.”
