Singer Ali Sethi has thrown his support behind Zohran K. Mamdani, a New York City mayoral candidate for 2025, calling his campaign “absolutely inspirational.” In an Instagram post, Sethi urged fellow desi Americans to vote, saying, “With Zohran, you have a real chance at renewal.”

Zohran, son of filmmaker Mira Nair and scholar Mahmood Mamdani, is known for his progressive platform advocating rent freezes, free city buses, and city-run grocery stores. Sethi praised his friend’s vision for a better, more equitable New York.
