Pakistani-born British singer Annie Khalid has opened up about the harrowing experience of her daughter Isha’s sudden health crisis.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Annie shared that her seven-year-old daughter, who was previously healthy, suffered two cardiac arrests within just eight hours on January 23rd, 2024.
The singer described the ordeal as a nightmare, recounting how Isha’s heart was overwhelmed by arrhythmia and hypoxia, leading to a 45-minute oxygen deprivation.
This caused Isha’s organs to start shutting down, one by one. “Her tiny heart couldn’t take it. We were faced with the reality of organ failure, brain damage, and paralysis,” Annie wrote, her voice filled with grief.
Doctors had no choice but to put Isha on life support. She was intubated, placed on a heart-lung bypass machine, and put on dialysis to support her kidneys. Annie recalled the emotional toll, saying, “I watched my little girl, who once danced through our home, lying motionless, tangled in wires and machines.”
Despite the devastating news, Annie found strength in her faith. “When medicine had no more answers, Allah did,” she wrote, describing Isha’s recovery as nothing short of a miracle.
The doctors were amazed at Isha’s survival, and Annie believes it was divine mercy that pulled her through.
Annie explained that Isha now faces the challenge of peripheral neuropathy and has lost the ability to walk due to brain damage. However, Annie remains hopeful, writing, “I believe with all my heart that Isha will walk again one day. She’s stronger than I ever imagined.”
In her post, Annie also took the time to address her absence from the public eye. “People have been asking where I’ve been. I’ve been here, being a mother to the most courageous and beautiful girl,” she explained.
The singer ended her emotional post by asking her followers to keep Isha in their prayers. “Please keep Isha in your Dua’s,” Annie Khalid requested, continuing to express her gratitude for her daughter’s miraculous recovery.
