MUMBAI: Bollywood composer AR Rahman is preparing to release a special song honoring legendary singer Asha Bhosle.
The tribute song is titled Asha Forever. Rahman recorded the project before the veteran singer’s death.
According to sources, the song was planned as a major celebration of Asha Bhosle’s music and legacy. It was intended to bring several leading film stars together.
The original plan reportedly included Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt.
Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, and filmmaker Karan Johar were also expected to participate. The celebration was planned while Asha Bhosle was still alive.
Rahman reportedly wanted the veteran singer to experience the tribute herself. However, her death changed the plans for the project.
Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 at the age of 92. Her death brought an end to plans for the gathering.
Rahman reportedly decided not to abandon the tribute. Instead, the project was adapted using artificial intelligence technology.
AI recreations were reportedly used to recreate parts of the original concept. The technology helped preserve the planned celebration without bringing the stars together physically.
Sources close to the project said the AI technology was used with consent. They also stressed that it was used only for the already-planned tribute.
