Actor Asad Siddiqui has openly criticised the entertainment industry for its “biased casting practices,” claiming selections often prioritize connections and appearance over talent. Speaking on Ushna Shah’s talk show, Siddiqui highlighted the favoritism shown to lighter skin tones and personal connections, calling it “unfair and damaging to merit.”

Siddiqui, who is considering venturing into production, hopes to introduce a fairer audition process to create equitable opportunities. He added that such practices dilute the quality of productions and need urgent reform.
