Bilal Maqsood delivered an emotional performance of his decade old song “Sar Kiye” at his daughter’s wedding reception, leaving fans and family teary-eyed.
The renowned Strings band member shared the heartfelt moment on Instagram, posting a video of himself singing on stage. During the performance, he called longtime collaborator Faisal Kapadia to join him. The reunion marked their first time performing together in almost four years.
“Last night at my daughter’s wedding reception, Mirage, the band, was playing the ‘Sar Kiye’. In the middle of the song, they called me up on stage,” Maqsood wrote. He added, “I was a little hesitant, but I went and then I called Faisal Kapadia to join me. It turned into a really emotional moment full of memories, love, and gratitude.”
Maqsood also expressed his thanks to Kapadia for making the evening unforgettable. Fans and followers praised the heartfelt performance, which highlighted the enduring impact of the decade old song.
The wedding of Maqsood’s daughter, Zehra, to Artur, her foreign husband, was held on January 4 in an intimate ceremony. Pictures from the event showed the bride in a traditional mint green outfit with elegant jewellery, while the groom wore a white kurta shalwar paired with an ivory waistcoat. The celebration was attended by close family and friends, creating a warm and personal atmosphere.
Fans were reminded of the legacy of the Pakistani rock band Strings, which officially ended its 33-year journey in March 2021. The band, including members Faisal Kapadia, Bilal Maqsood, Adeel Ali, Haider Ali, Aahad Nayani, and Bradley D’Souza, announced the conclusion of their musical career, leaving many fans nostalgic about their iconic songs.
