Billie Eilish Dominates AMAs 2025 with 7 Awards, Including Artist of the Year

Billie Eilish

At the American Music Awards (AMAs) held on Monday in Las Vegas, Billie Eilish emerged as the evening’s biggest winner, claiming the coveted Artist of the Year title. The 23-year-old singer, known for her unique sound and style, dominated the night by winning all seven categories in which she was nominated, including Album of the Year for Hit Me Hard and Soft and Favourite Touring Artist.

Eilish, who is currently touring in Europe, expressed her shock and gratitude through a video message, saying, “This is so crazy. I feel speechless. I wish I could be there tonight.”

She triumphed over major artists like Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Morgan Wallen—all of whom did not attend the event at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

Rising star Gracie Abrams, whose single That’s So True went viral, was named New Artist of the Year. Abrams also accepted her award virtually, thanking her fans for their unwavering support.

In other wins, SZA took home Favourite Female R&B Artist and Favourite R&B Song for Saturn, while Becky G was awarded Favourite Female Latin Artist. Beyoncé made history by winning Favourite Female Country Artist and Favourite Country Album for her genre-blending album Cowboy Carter, marking her first AMA wins in the country category. Post Malone received the title of Favourite Male Country Artist.

Despite leading with 10 nominations, Kendrick Lamar won only one award—for Favourite Hip-Hop Song with Not Like Us.

The show kicked off with host Jennifer Lopez delivering a high-energy, six-minute performance medley featuring 23 hits from nominated artists, including Eilish’s Birds of a Feather, Carpenter’s Espresso, and Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ’Em.

Music legends were also honoured during the night. Janet Jackson received the Icon Award and humbly said, “I don’t consider myself an icon,” hoping instead to inspire others. Meanwhile, Rod Stewart, aged 80, was celebrated with the Lifetime Achievement Award and performed his hit Forever Young, recalling his dream of simply becoming a singer, not seeking fame or wealth.

The AMAs, driven by fan votes, aired live on CBS and were streamed worldwide, celebrating a blend of rising stars and seasoned performers.
