Bollywood veteran Dharmendra has been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and will continue his treatment at home. The 89-year-old actor, who had been admitted multiple times in recent weeks, left the hospital on Wednesday morning.
According to Dr. Pratit Samdani, “Dharmendra ji was discharged around 7:30 am. He will continue treatment at home, as per the family’s decision.” The doctor added that the legendary actor’s condition is stable and that he is under close medical supervision.
News of Dharmendra’s hospital stay had sparked widespread concern among fans. Social media was flooded with rumors after videos of an ambulance arriving at and leaving his residence went viral. Some reports falsely claimed that the veteran actor had passed away, but his family quickly dismissed the rumors.
His wife, Hema Malini, and daughter, Esha Deol, took to social media to assure fans that he is recovering well. “Papa is stable and doing fine. Please don’t believe in fake news,” Esha wrote in her post, calming the worried fans.
During his hospital stay, Dharmendra’s family members — including sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, daughter Esha, and nephew Abhay Deol — visited him regularly. The actor also received visits from several Bollywood stars. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan dropped by on Monday night, while Aamir Khan, accompanied by Gauri Spratt, paid a visit on Tuesday evening.
The outpouring of love and concern from both fans and celebrities highlights the immense respect Dharmendra commands in the film industry. Known as the “He-Man of Bollywood,” he has inspired generations of actors with his charm, humility, and dedication to cinema.
