Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the legendary cricket captain who led India to victories in the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, and Champions Trophy, has surpassed Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the 2024 brand endorsement race.
Despite retiring from international cricket on August 15, 2020, Dhoni remains a prominent figure in the Indian Premier League (IPL), representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Under his leadership, CSK has claimed the IPL title five times. The franchise retained him for ₹4 crore (approximately $481,927 USD) for the upcoming season.
According to YAM Media Research, Dhoni secured 42 brand endorsements in the first half of 2024, surpassing Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan by eight endorsements, reaffirming his position as a leading influencer in the market.
In 2023, Dhoni stepped down as CSK captain, passing the role to Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, under Gaikwad’s leadership, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs.
