Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is celebrating a milestone as Border 2 continues its successful run at the box office.
He recently shared a heartfelt reflection on his childhood memories of watching the 1997 war classic Border on television. At the time, he could not afford to see the film in theatres.
In an Instagram video, Diljit recalled the nationwide excitement surrounding the release of Border. He explained that his family did not encourage trips to cinemas and lacked the financial means for theatre tickets.
“There was a huge buzz when Border released. People were talking about it all over the country. Our family didn’t allow us to go to theatres, and we didn’t have money for tickets. So, I watched Border on TV when it aired. We were just waiting for it,” Diljit shared.
He added that he watched the film multiple times once it aired on television. He also remembered hearing stories from neighbors who had seen Border in cinemas and shared their experiences with him.
In Border 2, Diljit portrays Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, a Param Vir Chakra awardee. The sequel also stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty. The film highlights courage, sacrifice, and patriotism, continuing the legacy of the original Border.
