Emily Blunt has shared why her children remain her top priority, no matter how busy her Hollywood schedule becomes.
In a recent interview with PORTER magazine, Emily Blunt revealed that she never misses her daughters’ bedtime routine, even after long filming days. The Devil Wears Prada star explained that the nightly chats with her children are her “essential anchor” and something she refuses to give up.
“Once my children start to find me repellent, once Mommy doesn’t reign supreme, I will do it, but I feel bedtime is this essential anchor,” Emily Blunt told the outlet. “The 10-minute chats where they tell you everything — you don’t want to miss them.”
The actress, who shares daughters Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9, with husband John Krasinski, added that these moments give her a sense of balance away from the demands of Hollywood.
Emily Blunt also spoke about how her children are becoming more interested in her career. In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight in June, she revealed that Hazel and Violet were excited about a possible sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. According to Blunt, they wanted to visit her on set to see the glamorous world of fashion come to life.
“They would quite like to go to set. Just for the fashion. I know, they’re like Mary Schmoppins, this is like Devil Wears Prada. They’re all about it,” Blunt joked.
The actress, who recently starred in The Smashing Machine, continues to balance her successful acting career with motherhood. Fans praised Emily Blunt for staying grounded and prioritizing her family despite her demanding profession.
