NBA YoungBoy’s legal troubles are escalating as the 24-year-old rapper faces the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence. Earlier this year, he was arrested at his Utah home in connection with an alleged prescription drug fraud scheme, leading to his current incarceration. At the time of his arrest, YoungBoy was already on house arrest, awaiting trial for a federal weapons charge.

Last week, YoungBoy pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, adding further complications to his legal situation. In a court filing, he stated, “I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the District of Utah in which I am present, and to waive trial in the [Middle District of Louisiana].” His next court hearing is set for September 4.
DJ Akademiks recently discussed YoungBoy’s legal issues during a livestream, shedding light on the intense circumstances surrounding his April arrest. Akademiks revealed that authorities deployed a SWAT team to apprehend YoungBoy due to concerns over potential armed resistance at his Utah residence. “When they went to arrest him, they had to bring in SWAT and multiple agencies because YB had enough firepower on that mountain to create a significant standoff,” Akademiks explained.
If convicted, NBA YoungBoy could face up to ten years in prison, along with fines and a period of supervised release. His future now hangs in the balance as he awaits his next court appearance.
