When Elvis Presley’s debut album topped the charts in 1956, “Blue Suede Shoes” was the first track. Recently, his own blue suede shoes sold for around $152,000 at a British auction by Henry Aldridge and Son.
Bidding for these iconic shoes, considered significant showbiz memorabilia, started at approximately $69,600. A client from California purchased them.

Elvis wore the shoes during a performance of “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” on “The Steve Allen Show” in July 1956. They are size 10.5 and marked “Nann-Bush.” Presley wore them both on and off stage during the 1950s and later gave them to his friend Alan Fortas in 1958 before joining the US Army.
The shoes were authenticated by Jimmy Velvet, a close friend of Presley and founder of the Elvis Presley Museum, with accompanying letters of authenticity from Velvet and Fortas.
Additionally, an outfit worn by Freddie Mercury in the “I’m Going Slightly Mad” music video sold for nearly $250,000 on the same day.
