Florida Man Sues Netflix Over Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Fight Glitches

Mike Tyson

A Florida man, Ronald “Blue” Dalton, has filed a lawsuit against Netflix, citing streaming failures during the highly anticipated Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul boxing match. Held at AT&T Stadium in Texas, the fight drew a massive crowd of 72,300 attendees and set a record for digital combat sports distribution.

Dalton’s complaint claims that buffering and glitches ruined the viewing experience, calling Netflix’s service “The Baddest Streaming on the Planet.” The lawsuit accuses the platform of failing to deliver the seamless experience promised to customers, leaving many frustrated during key moments of the fight.

Netflix admitted to “technical challenges” but defended its handling of the situation as “brilliant.” The company celebrated the fight’s success, which garnered 46.6 million views and ranked in the Top 10 across 91 countries. Jake Paul’s co-promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, highlighted the unprecedented demand, which reportedly overwhelmed Netflix’s streaming capacity.

For viewers like Dalton, however, the glitches overshadowed the event’s achievements. His lawsuit raises questions about Netflix’s ability to handle live events of this scale, sparking a broader debate on the platform’s readiness for high-stakes digital broadcasts.
