The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has taken a major step to improve healthcare services. Govt Approves the creation of 477 new posts at District Headquarters Hospital Chak Rawalakot. The decision aims to strengthen medical facilities and improve patient care in the region.
The approval was given by AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore during a high-level meeting. The meeting focused on expanding healthcare services and addressing staff shortages at DHQ Hospital Rawalakot.
Officials said the Govt Approves decision is part of a broader plan to upgrade the health sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The new posts will include medical and paramedical staff. This is expected to improve hospital performance and reduce pressure on existing workers.
The Prime Minister directed authorities to include Phase-III of the hospital expansion project in the upcoming budget. He stressed that timely planning and funding are necessary for smooth implementation.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that healthcare demand is increasing across the region. The government is prioritizing reforms to ensure better services for patients in public hospitals.
Senior officials attended the meeting, including the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary Finance, Secretary Planning and Development, and Director General Health. Former Information Minister Sardar Abid Hussain Abid also participated in the session.
According to official sources, the Govt Approves move is expected to significantly improve service delivery at DHQ Hospital Rawalakot. The additional staff will help manage patient load more efficiently and enhance emergency response capabilities.
The Prime Minister emphasized that healthcare is a key priority for the government. He said strong medical infrastructure is essential for public welfare and long-term development.
He also approved the proposal to include Phase-III of the hospital project in the next fiscal yearโs development plan. Relevant departments have been instructed to ensure proper budget allocation for timely execution.
