ISLAMABAD โ Model and lawyer Iqra Nasir has filed a formal FIR against her ex-husband and his family, alleging emotional and physical abuse. She claims the abuse escalated on February 11, when she was physically assaulted and threatened with a knife.
Iqra Nasir approached police to register a case under Section 354 and Section 506 of the law. The FIR details the alleged torture and intimidation by her ex-husband, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Iqra Nasir Speaks Out
Taking to social media, Iqra Nasir shared images of her injuries along with a copy of the FIR. In an emotional post, she explained that she had remained silent for a long time but decided to speak up, stating that silence only protects the oppressor, not the victim.
Quoting verses from the Holy Quran, Iqra Nasir emphasized that Allah is aware of every bruise and sleepless night. She cited Surah Ibrahim (14:42) and Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:57), reminding followers that oppression is not strength and justice ultimately belongs to Allah.
Message to Other Survivors
Iqra Nasir encouraged others who are suffering in silence to come forward. She wrote that surviving abuse does not make someone weak and expressed her faith in Allah as Al-Adl, the just, who will ensure accountability.
She highlighted the importance of healing and refusing to carry shame that is not oneโs own. Iqra Nasir also prayed for the protection and safety of every daughter, urging people to raise awareness and have courage against abuse.
The case initiated by Iqra Nasir has drawn public attention and support, emphasizing the need for awareness regarding domestic abuse and the rights of survivors in Pakistan. Authorities are now investigating the allegations as part of the formal legal process.
