Junaid Safdar’s Joyous Wedding Celebrations Start, Walima Next Week

The wedding preparations of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, have officially begun at Jati Umrah, Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV. The celebrations are set to continue over several days, marking one of the most high-profile weddings in the city.

Junaid Safdar is set to marry Shanzay, the granddaughter of Nawaz Sharif’s longtime ally and former National Assembly member Sheikh Rohale Asghar. The two families have shared close ties for years, making the union a celebrated alliance in political and social circles.

The wedding festivities will begin on January 16, with various pre-wedding events. Junaid Safdar’s baraat is scheduled to travel to Lake City on January 17. The grand Walima ceremony will take place at Sharif Farms, Jati Umrah, on January 18 at 1:00 PM, bringing together family, friends, and notable figures from across the country.

Rumors about Junaid Safdar’s second marriage were confirmed last month when Rohail Asghar, Shanzay’s grandfather, shared details of the upcoming celebrations. According to him, Shanzay and Mahnoor Safdar, Junaid’s sister, have been close friends for years, frequently visiting each other’s homes. While it is unclear if Mahnoor had a direct role in arranging the match, the families’ longstanding ties helped facilitate the union.

Rohail Asghar said that when his son approached him about the marriage, he considered it a blessing for his granddaughter to marry into such a prominent political family. He expressed his full support and encouragement for the upcoming wedding.

The union of Junaid Safdar and Shanzay has drawn attention nationwide, not only for its political significance but also for the elaborate wedding festivities that reflect Pakistan’s rich cultural and social traditions.
